ASI are proud to offer our 3 day Primitive Survival Skills course focusing on primitive living & survival skills including a comprehensive flint knapping and ‘wild’ pottery course, with all materials provided, including black obsidian from the U.S.A. Australian Survival Instructor’s Kevin Newton with Zach Nast, and Daniel Sainty will lead you on a journey learning how to make stone age weapons and tools using traditional materials, just as “Otzi” the Iceman did. ASI will take you on primitive ‘wild’ pottery journey, start by digging your own clay, treating it, hand forming your work, then complete your primitive survival cooking project with a unique firing process replicated from the Anasazi people of the Sth West of U.S.A. Make your own fish hooks and fishing line from local materials, and catch your dinner in our tidal river. Collect your own resin to haft your own knapped point, and learn to trap your own game using primitive traps.
Our 2 day Longbow and Selfbow making course is a dynamic combination of both traditional and modern woodworking and crafting skills which enable you to complete your own longbow or selfbow. You will also make your own string, shoot your finished bow on our 3D Archery range, and also you can use your downtime to fish on our tidal river for your fresh fish dinner. You will also learn about the history of Archery through the ages, and learn what equipment Oetzi the Iceman carried, by seeing our own reproductions first hand. Staves of cured and prepped Nth American White Ash and all tools supplied.
